Chef Jay – Owner, Operator & Executive Chef
Chef Jay's passion for cooking began at an early age, growing up in his family's restaurant in Wichita, Kansas. Surrounded by the sights, sounds, and flavors of the kitchen, he developed a lifelong love for creating memorable meals and bringing people together through food.
After graduating from the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in Scottsdale, Arizona, Chef Jay built a career rooted in creativity, quality, and a commitment to exceptional hospitality. As the Owner, Operator, and Executive Chef of Just Reel! Bites, he combines classic culinary techniques with fresh ideas to create dishes that are both comforting and unforgettable.
Now proud to call Thorne Bay home, Chef Jay is excited to share his passion for great food with the island community. Whether you're stopping in after a day on the water or gathering with family and friends, his goal is to serve every guest a meal that's made with care, flavor, and a little bit of adventure.
Jodi – Co-Owner & Operator
Jodi has been passionate about the restaurant industry since she was 16 years old. She started by washing dishes and worked her way through nearly every role in the business, discovering that her true passion is creating memorable dining experiences. As Co-Owner and Operator of Just Reel! Bites, Jodi brings warmth, creativity, and positive energy to every guest who walks through the door. Her goal is simple: make everyone feel welcome, well-fed, and excited to come back.
Avery – Assistant to the Chef & Future Restaurateur
Avery is joining the action as the Chef's Assistant and is learning the ins and outs of the restaurant business one day at a time. Whether he's helping behind the scenes or visiting with guests, Avery brings enthusiasm, excitement, and a big personality to Just Reel! Bites. Be sure to ask him about fishing—he's always ready to share a great fishing story and help make your visit even more memorable.
